Canada-Guyana Outreach Mission (CanGO) would like to thank the golfers, sponsors (corporate and individual) and volunteers who supported our 6th Annual Fundraising Golf Tournament at the Tamarack Ridge Golf Club in Putnam, Ontario. The tournament was a resounding success again this year. In attendance at the event was the Guyana Consul to Toronto, Mr. Gerald Whyte, who made the draw and presented the prize of a $500.00 voucher to the J.W. Marriott Hotel in Muskoka, to Mr. Ben Fuschino. We’d also like to thank the staff of the Tamarack Ridge Golf Club, especially Grant Wakelin, for accommodating us and making us feel welcome. And last, but certainly not least, we’re especially indebted to Winston and Karen Archer who do an excellent job each year in managing the tournament, and this year was no exception. Without Karen and Winston this tournament would not be possible.
Above are pictures of the winning team of the tournament (Paul Langford, John Taplay, Craig Lattimer and Scott McGlauglin) with their trophy, and of Ben Fuschino (winner of the $500.00 Marriott Hotel voucher), with Winston Archer and Yvonne Triesman (President of CanGO).
Members of CanGO would like to thank the talented ladies of the Catholic Women’s League of All Saints Parish in Strathroy, Ontario (Pat Buren, Mary Dulisch, Harriet Goncalves, Mary Margaret Groot, Willy Hoefnagels and Helen Kennes) for making nineteen (19) mattress covers for our 2019 mission to Guyana. We’re very grateful for the donated material, sewing accessories, and the numerous hours that the ladies devoted to the project.
In addition to the mattress covers, some members also made dresses, pants and diapers for the children in Regions 1 and 2 of Guyana.
Your generous gift will help us fund our mission to help those in need. Together, we can make a difference.
