For the past three years, CanGO has partnered with Guyana Medical Relief (GMR) to renovate the Longhouse at Warakaba in the Upper Pomeroon River (Region2). Since the Health Posts in the region are all too small to accommodate our team and the patients who attend our clinics, this Longhouse, with its 17 rooms, has afforded us a place stay and run our clinics while we’re in the area. On Friday, November 8, 2019, there was a ceremony, complete with the raising of the flags of Guyana, United States and Canada, the singing of the national anthems, and the unveiling of a plaque to commemorate the completion of the renovations and the dedication to the people of St. Monica/Karawab. Children from the local school were on hand to sing for the dignitaries who attended the ceremony.
