As President of CanGO, I was very honored to present our first awards this year to two very deserving members of our Team.

The first award was given to Dr. Clare Mitchell, Developmental Pediatrician and CanGO’s Medical Director. Over the years, Clare has worked very hard to organize and coordinate the medication for our annual mission (a very onerous task). She’s also very dedicated to the children she treats and tries to find ways to make their lives, and that of their parents, a bit better.

The second recipient was Mr. Sharir Chan, Chief Operating Officer of Guyana Medical Relief (GMR) for his personal supervision of the restoration of the Longhouse at Warakaba for the past four years. The Longhouse has provided us with accommodation and clinic facilities while we’re working in the Upper Pomeroon River.
