Board of Directors

Dr. Clare Mitchell - President

Clare is a Developmental Paediatrician in London, Ontario. She is an Associate Professor at the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, Western University and is actively involved in medical education at both the undergraduate and postgraduate level. Her clinical focus is the assessment of children and adolescents with developmental delays and/or mental health problems especially those with complex neurodevelopmental disorders such as Tourette Syndrome, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, and Autism Spectrum Disorders. Dr. Mitchell joined the CanGO team in 2014.

Ms. Margaret Brac - Treasurer

Marg is an Audiologist and co-owner of London Audiology Consultants Hearing Clinic. She has provided hearing health to patients of all ages for over 30 years. Marg joined the team in 2019.

Dr. Emily Needles - Medical Director

Emily is a second-year medical student at the University College Dublin. Born and raised in Canada, she studied Biomedical Sciences and International Development at the University of Waterloo before moving to Ireland to study medicine. This is her second mission and she was beyond excited to make the 28-hour journey to Guyana to get the chance to work with CanGO again.

Dr. Lorraine Emeghebo - Secretary

Lorraine has a Ph.D. in Nursing and is President of Epsilon Kappa Chapter of the International Nursing Honor Society. She joined the CanGO team in 2014.

Ms. F. Amanda Peters - Chief Operating Officer

Amanda is a patriotic Guyanese. She was a founding member of the Guyana Women’s Miners Organization (GWMO). Her diligent work ethic and charisma led to her employment as the Personal Assistant to the Minister within the Ministry of Labour and Ministry of Natural Resources. Despite her career and business endeavours. Amanda still finds time for her passion, singing. She is a professional gospel singer, song writer and proud owner and founder of Aspiring Enterprise since 2017. Amanda joined the CanGO team in 2023.

Ms. Yvonne Triesman

Yvonne is a born Guyanese who immigrated to Canada in 1969. She attended Western University on a part-time basis where she majored in Psychology. She also worked full-time at Western University and retired in 2014 after 45 years in the health care field. She is the Founder and President of Canada-Guyana Outreach Mission (CanGO).

Mr. Conrad Joseph - Past Director

Conrad is a born Guyanese who immigrated to Canada in 1971. He was employed by General Motors Canada, and has been retired since 2000. Conrad is one of the founding members of CanGO, and is currently Member-at-Large on the Board of Directors.

Ms. Margaret Brac

Ms. Chandrakalie Chunilall

Chandra was born in Guyana but immigrated to England in 1973 to further her studies in Nursing. She later immigrated to Canada where she continued her Nursing career. She worked in the Family Medicine Department at London Health Science Centre until retirement. She joined the CanGO team in 2014.

Mr. Peter Gyurkovics

Peter is a former Emergency Medicine Technician who is currently a second year student at the University of Colorado Boulder. Born and raised in Vermont, he is studying integrated physiology and ecology. This was his first mission and he is extremely excited to continue his education in the world of medicine.

Dr. Veronika Jedlovszky

Veronika is board certified in Internal Medicine (Mount Sinai Services, NYC), Pulmonary Medicine (Columbia University Services, NYC), and sleep medicine. She joined the CanGO team in 2016. She also participated in a trip to Honduras with ‘Hands for Honduras’.

Ms. Penelope Jenkinson

Penelope was born in Guyana, studied in London, England and worked in Public Administration for the Municipal Government of Canada for 25 years. She also is a trained Chef who joined the CanGO Team in 2019.

Denise is a General Practitioner in Newport, Vermont with 40 years experience in all facets of primary care including women’s health and hospice care. She joined the CanGO team in 2016. She retired in 2018 but plans to continue with CanGO in future missions.
